Nonverbal Overload May Be Causing Zoom Fatigue Experts Say
A recent study published by Stanford University communication professor Jeremy Bailenson finds that too much Zoom use can cause fatigue. The reasons cited include: excessive amounts of close-up eye gaze, cognitive load, increased self-evaluation from staring at video of oneself, and constraints on physical mobility. Since Bailenson studies how people interact virtually, his arguments are based on academic theory and research.
