How to Evolve Eevee Into Vaporeon in Pokemon Go
Coming in at #134 in the Pokedex, Vaporeon is the water evolution of Eevee so it’s strong against rock and ground type Pokemon like Graveler. In addition to being catchable in the wild on very rare occasions, you can obtain a Vaporeon by evolving an Eevee with 25 candies. Evolving an Eevee with candies can also get you a Jolteon or a Flareon, but you can guarantee a Vaporeon by using the name cheat and renaming your Eevee “Rainer” beforehand.
How to Evolve Eevee Into Jolteon in Pokemon Go
Pokemon #135, Jolteon, is the lightning evolution of Eevee and evolves in a similar fashion to Vaporeon. Evolving an Eevee with 25 Eevee candies will give you a one-in-three chance of getting a Jolteon. Renaming the Eevee “Sparky,” however, will guarantee it. Jolteon can also be caught in the wild, but this is a rare occurrence.
How to Evolve Eevee Into Flareon in Pokemon Go
Flareon is the 136th Pokemon in the Pokedex, and the third of the original Eevee evolutions. As its name and appearance suggest, Flareon is the fire evolution, so it’s good to have on hand when battling grass and bug type Pokemon. Like Vaporeon and Jolteon, Flareon can also be caught in the wild on super rare occasions, and can also be evolved from an Eevee, with a one-in-three chance, by using 25 Eevee candies. Its evolution can be locked-in by renaming the Eevee “Pyro” before evolving.
How to Get Espeon in Pokemon Go
Espeon is #196 in the Pokedex and is the first Eevee evolution from the Johto region. This Pokemon is a psychic type, meaning it’s a good one to use when battling against fighting and poison type Pokemon like Grimer. The quickest way to get an Espeon is to change an Eevee’s name to “Sakura,” then use 25 Eevee candies to evolve it. Alternatively, you can walk with it as your buddy for 10km, then evolve it during the daytime. It’s important to remember, though, that all Pokemon Go players will eventually be asked to evolve an Eevee into an Espeon as part of the “A Ripple in Time” special research quest. So it’s worth saving your candy and waiting until you’re given this specific quest, which requires you to make an Eevee your buddy and walk with it for 10km. Once you’ve walked that distance, evolve the Eevee with 25 candies during the daytime and it should turn into an Espeon.
How to Get Umbreon in Pokemon Go
Umbreon is #197 in the Pokedex and is the second Eevee evolution from Johto. This Pokemon is a dark type, so it’s useful against psychic and ghost types. Like Espeon, the fastest way to get an Umbreon is to evolve an Eevee with the name cheat. For Umbreon, name your Eevee “Tamao” before evolving it. Much like Espeon, evolving an Eevee into an Umbreon under special conditions will be an eventual “A Ripple in Time” quest, so it’s worth waiting until you receive that quest before getting your Umbreon. Like the Espeon quest, you’re tasked with walking 10km with your Eevee before evolving it with 25 candies. Unlike the Espeon quest, though, you’ll need to evolve Eevee at night to get an Umbreon.
Evolving Eevee Into Leafeon in Pokemon Go
Leafeon is the 470th Pokemon and is the first Eevee evolution from the Sinnoh region. Leafeon is a grass type, so it’s strong in battles against rock and ground types, as well as water Pokemon like Poliwag. To get Leafon, simply change an Eevee’s name to “Linnea,” then evolve it with 25 Eevee candies. An alternative method to the name cheat is to purchase a Mossy Lure Module from the Pokemon Go Store for 200 coins, placing it in a Poke Stop, then evolving an Eevee while you’re near it.
Evolving Eevee Into Glaceon in Pokemon Go
Glaceon is the second Eevee evolution of the Sinnoh region and comes in at #471. Glaceon is an ice type Pokemon, so it’s recommended for fights with grass, ground, and dragon types, and flying opponents like Spearow. To evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon, change your Eevee’s name to “Rea,” then evolve it with candy as per usual. Similar to evolving Leafeon, you can also get a Glaceon by placing a special lure module onto a Pokestop and evolving an Eevee. Instead of the Mossy variant, though, use the Glacial Lure Module.
New Eevee Evolutions Coming to Pokemon Go
The Pokemon Go game frequently updates with the addition of more and more Pokemon species from the main titles on the Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch consoles. So, while not all Pokemon are in the game just yet, all of them will be added eventually. When Pokemon Go first launched, it only had the original three Eevee evolutions; Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon. With subsequent updates though, Espeon and Umbreon were added and eventually followed by Leafeon and Glaceon. Any other new Eevee evolutions debuting with Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are expected to come to Pokemon Go as well.
